Tax Funded Programs

You're probably wondering what happens to the tax dollars you pay to the government.

With the tax dollars that you contribute, the government provides thousands of programs and services to citizens. These programs range from law enforcement to park preservation to education, and require billions of dollars each year to sustain.

The federal, state, and local governments use tax dollars to provide programs throughout the nation, in your state, and in your community.

The following three programs/services are paid for by tax dollars. Think about each one and decide whether it is offered by your local government, your state government, or the federal government. Once you have made a decision, click on the program/service to reveal the correct answer.
